            Your privacy is protected. TakoMD does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything runs locally in your browser.
        

Scope

This privacy policy applies to the TakoMD web application at md.takohi.me and the TakoMD browser extension available on the Chrome Web Store.

Information We Do NOT Collect

TakoMD is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect:

Personal information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
Device identifiers or tracking data
Location information
Usage analytics or statistics
File contents or document data
Browsing history or page content
Any form of user data transmitted to external servers

How TakoMD Works

TakoMD is a 100% client-side application:

All files are opened, edited, and rendered locally in your browser
No data is ever sent to our servers
The app works fully offline after first load
There are no user accounts, logins, or profiles
No cookies are used for tracking

Browser Extension

The TakoMD browser extension converts web pages to markdown format. It:

Only activates when you click the extension button
Processes page content entirely within your browser
Does not transmit any page content or browsing data to external servers
Does not track which pages you visit
Requires minimal permissions: only "activeTab" (current tab access when clicked) and "scripting" (to extract page content)

Local Data Storage

TakoMD may store the following data locally on your device:

User preferences (theme, layout mode, language)
Extension language preference

This data:

Never leaves your device
Is stored using your browser's localStorage / chrome.storage.local
Is deleted when you clear browser data or uninstall the extension
Cannot be accessed by us or any third party

Google Drive Integration

TakoMD offers optional Google Drive integration for opening and saving files. When you use this feature:

Authentication is handled entirely by Google
We do not receive or store your Google credentials
File transfers happen directly between your browser and Google Drive
We have no access to your Google Drive files or account

Third-Party Services

TakoMD does NOT use:

Analytics services (no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, etc.)
Advertising networks
Social media tracking
Error/crash reporting services that transmit data

Permissions (Browser Extension)

activeTab: Access the current tab's content only when you click the extension icon
scripting: Inject the content extraction script into the active tab
host_permissions (md.takohi.me): Send extracted content to the TakoMD web app

No other permissions are requested. We never access your browsing history, bookmarks, or other tabs.

Children's Privacy

Since TakoMD does not collect any personal information, it is safe for users of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
